Best valve cover gasket.

What is the best valve cover gasket?. I have a little oil seepage from the back of my driver side valve cover. It looks like I currently have cork gaskets. My heads or vortec if that matters.

Can't really go wrong with FelPro ones...

Never really had an issue with 'em, except for on my Camaro that my young and dumb self 13 years ago put on shiny cheap parts store valve covers that don't clamp down on the gaskets properly.
At least our valve covers are stupid easy to service.

When I did my top end I got a Mahle gasket set with these gaskets in it - I'm happy with them.

Are the regular SBC valve cover Gaskets different than the vortec gaskets

I have a small leak on the driver's side of my Suburban as well. I bought OEM ACDelco replacements but it hasn't bothered me enough to install them yet. I can give you some pictures of them and a part number when I get home if you want. They were more expensive than FelPros but they look nice.

Define "regular SBC valve cover gaskets".

Perimeter-bolt gaskets are totally different from Center-bolt gaskets. '86 to end-of-production should be center-bolt.

I don't think I've ever seen a cork center-bolt gasket.

Sorry... all center bolt... TBI and vortec. They may not be cork i can see just a little material from the edge of the valve cover. I just km now a tab bit of oil is seeping by.
