A magnet wouldn't have any effect on a battery. Lead is not magnetic, and the RockAuto magnets are so weak that they won't interfere with anything.

I have no idea what a magnet would do on a lead battery, Nothing I ever wondered about LOL... other than a lithium Ion, etc... I was being bias about RA not using my truck for magnet LOL, GRRRRRR.. Was drinking Vodka just BS,ing about goofy decal I did to cover the long Traveller logo. Back in 90's had a coworker come in one morning, said his youngest ruin his TV? or puter monitor? don't remember, he ran magnet around the screen looking at the color trails LOL...
