After going back and forth with some people I decided to give comp cams a call and ask for a cam recommendation. After 30 minutes of hold and a 6 minute convo I was given 2 part numbers
Cam #1
08-465-8
I’m not gonna add the specs cause the lift is too high anyways( also only says 87-95 engines?)

Cam #2
08-304-08
Lift: .500/.510
Dur. @050: 210/220
LSA:114
ADV dur: 266/276

From what I can tell cam #2 seems like a pretty good fit after some springs, retainers, and 1.5 roller rockers. I’ve never seen these cams before and neither are listed on comp cams site. Has anyone heard of or even ran these? I’m open to all opinions about them too

Good fit for what? Picking a cam is all about the combo. Those look like mild performance street car, stock heads, and a dual plane type cams. Not what I'd personally put in a truck.

08-304-08 is the CC304 we used to put into LT1 B/D-cars. Awesome cams for torque and driveability even with a stock torque converter. IIRC the prefix for the LT1 version was 07 but the SBC OE roller version of the same cam is 08.

ANY aftermarket cam needs springs.

Forgot to add the build, it’s a 1996 c2500, 5.7l 350

How would it work on a TBI K1500 358cui 9.7:1 CR 3.73 gear th700, long tubes zz4 manifold 454 TB and 810 heads that flow 210 ish @ 0.500? Was thinking about using its little brother 08-300-08, because I want ALL the Low RPM torque I can get, but maybe I can get away with a little more cowbell?
