I showed my dad the listing the first time I saw it, is the full motor description not listed? My dad looked over it and said it was specced out the same way he built the last race motor before we moved to NC.

All it mentions is the heads. Usually a race motor is balanced to higher RPMs and has stronger internals. Though I'm sure someone willing to put aluminum heads on a small block probably did build it like a race motor

Huh. The poster must've shortened the listing from the last time it was posted if it's just the heads. Last time I saw it there was a full description of the motor.

Even if the 383 is built for high hp it isn't considered a race engine. Mine puts out 465hp and 470 ft lbs of torque on pump gas. In my mind a race engine is built for race gas that revs to the moon
