93 C1500 Electric Radiator Fan Kit

Is it necessary to change out my stock radiator to install either a 15 or 16 fan kit?

Mine is stock and I have a 19.

not that is may be plausible for many others but i used a set off my aunt's 01 Monte Carlo flipped upside down on mine. Notched the right corner for upper hose area and one tap to clear the tranny lines and used self tapping screws on the top fin, 6 of them to hold it on the top side and cut a top radiator shroud to hold everything against the core and the bottom has the 2 factory posts holding it on the bottom in a drain hole in the frame.
