Start with the basics I got this 1988 c1500 for free guy just wanted it out of his yard. It was a DD for 1.5 years did some tinkering made it carbureted just some little crap. Then I bought another truck from my brother in-law a 1992 SCLB with a 383 stroker (Shela is her name)

this truck became my DD and the 88 just sat parked at a friends after going to work for a few months I came back and decided I was going to do a ground up rebuild on the 88. I decided that I would use the cab from Shela and front clip (it has a way better interior) also the engine and trans. So we towed the 88 over to my house with shela.

and started the dismantling (Note date that i started project is May of 2013)

after it was mostly taken apart I cleaned and primed the frame to mainly stop anymore rust from starting

then I took the front end completely apart and cleaned it

the cab mounts where pretty rusted only around the inner circle the mounts go through so I found some good raw steel washers and welded them in place mind my ty welding first time actually welding im a lot better now

for my final painting of the frame I decided to use a rubberized asphalting undercoat I really like how the finish came out (the last cab mount pic shows the finished product) still wet in this pick of the front end

with it now being a roller again next step is to take the engine/trans out then take the cab, and front end off of Shela the donor and set it on this frame.
Really wanted to go fuel cell with this truck so I went to Mopc and picked up this sweet deal. RCI 20 gallon fuel cell with sending unit and cap along with the mounting straps for $375 im happy.
