I would want to use these heads https://www.summitracing.com/parts/flk-1220hrcnc505/make/chevrolet or maybe a set of one of these https://www.summitracing.com/compareif I had unlimited funds I would have a aftermarket block with a minimum of a 4.185 bore and maximum of a 4.250 bore and a stroke of 4.250
I like hearing this. The generally accepted limit of the stock spider seemed to be around 400hp. I'm currently working on a 383 with the stock mfpi spider and a very mildly ported stock intake/throttle body. Did you install a larger fuel pump to feed the beast?I went to the DART SHP blk 4.125" bore and 4.0" stroke. Had to get custom pistons to keep the compression in the 9.46:1 static range. COVID time frame and it took 9 months to get the pistons done. All said [email protected] and 560ftlb@4K. Still using the MPFI type spider (48lb/hr) and OEM Throttle body. Really nice to have all that Trq makes climbing the mountain passes a breeze. It only $$$$ cant take it with you.
the higher psi mpfi spiders are very expensive 305 350 https://www.ausinjector.com/categor...rmance/chevrolet/k1500/v8-5-7l/1996-99-3.html 4.3 https://www.ausinjector.com/categor...rmance/chevrolet/k1500/v6-4-3l/1996-98-3.htmlI like hearing this. If I had unlimited funds I probably wouldn't be screwing around w/ $10K pickups.if I had unlimited funds I would have a aftermarket block with a minimum of a 4.185 bore and maximum of a 4.250 bore and a stroke of 4.250
