Well the sealants you mentioned aren’t recommended for plastic according to Loctite and Permatex. Also, the o-ring does the sealing. I’m thinking the red shjt is more of a locking to keep the tube from spinning.

Red threadlocker on a plastic oil fill tube? Not a chance.

It's thread sealant. I don't think anyone can tell you with absolute certainty the brand of the thread sealant. But, as long as it's compatible with engine oil, should be good to go.

Loctite makes Loctite DRI 516 and 517 thread sealants. They resemble the same burnt orange color. Not sure if they are sold in consumer-sized containers though.
516 is what he is looking for, never seen consumer sized packages.

If you look in the FSM where the 516 was factory applied, gives a GM part number equivalent to the White Teflon Permetex as its replacement. Same stuff you would put on heater hose fittings and head bolts. I have used it for years on knock sensors, oil pressure fittings, coolant temp sensors and the like. It stays pliable like the 516 when it is cured and has some adhesive like holding property to it when cured.

I will also add some like to use Teflon tape that is a mistake and asking for leaks.

If you must use teflon tape there or on an oil pressure sending unit, use the yellow hydrocarbon rated stuff. Still do not recomeend it though.

I had one on a LT1 like that. Used a pair of channel locks to screw the tube in after cleaning the threads putting the white teflon thread sealer on it. Stayed in place the rest of the time I owned that engine.
The tube is stripped and the valve cover is bent, looks like somebody tried to pull them selves up into the engine bay using the tube as a grab handle. Bunch of clown owned this truck previously… smh

I think I'd use some sort of glue if nothing else is workable. Better have it permanently secure than constantly fighting it unscrewing.
