The center of the beam type won’t have enough pressure to be affective on the older flatter glass.

Yeah, I think I had some at one point, and the ends didn't make great contact. I think they were some low-end wipers, Though. Currently, I've got a set of US made Trico beam wipers on my Volvo 850, and I just don't like the look. Since that's my "play car" I'm putting conventional wipers back on it, and moving the Trico wipers to my "work car". It sees more rain and the beams shouldn't be bothered by the snow that I'll be driving through soon.

I think I've tried every wiper under the sun for these trucks and IMO the best ones are the GM 93441742 OEM factory replacements that @Caman96 mentioned. I was going through a set of beam style blades every six months. Trico, Bosch, RainX, didn't matter. They all eventually lose spring pressure on the outside edges and start chattering and/or streaking. I switched both of my trucks over to the GM 93441742 blades and they've lasted me over two years at this point, still going strong.

Like @Orpedcrow said, I'd stay away from the beam style no matter what you get. In my experience these trucks really need the old factory style blades with the supports to maintain proper pressure across the glass.

Thats an awesome find on the ACDelco's. Appreciate the info. I don't like this new overpriced junk.

The whole situation with wipers nowadays ticks me off. Cant just go to an auto parts store, and buy some cheap refills, like back in the days. Just the strip of rubber, and the silver frame that slipped in the arms, like those Delco's. Less waste. Gotta pay $20+ each for some plastic nonsense, to have to throw the whole thing away again, when they go bad in no time.

This is weird, they don't come up for my truck. I have that issue with oil filters sometimes too.... 99 is a split year for oil filters on the 454, so sometimes both styles won't show.

I can find them with the part number search, and the "Buyer's Guide" shows them fitting 94-2000. I guess 88-93 must be the pin style, like my 69 Buick uses.
I just did a wiper blade search on RockAuto and ACDELCO 93441742 doesn’t come up for my truck either. But, again, they do show fitment on Acdelco.com. Whenever I search for a part, I usually confirm it on multiple sites. If it’s an Acdelco part, I’m pretty confident the Acdelco site is confirmation for that part. But generally, it’s always good to verify on different sites. RockAuto is good, but not 100% always. :deal:

I just entered my truck again and the GM 93441742 still don’t show, but now the GM Silver Line 84418 do. Real cheap too!

I orderd the ACDelco Silvers last nigtt before going to bed... Through Amazon. Checking now, on Rockauto, they only come up with a part number search and show "no applications" in the Buyer's Guide. They also have the little truck next to them, telling me they'll ship from the same warehouse as something else in my cart. However, when I add them to the cart, I get another warehouse added. I don't understand that. I see that often, too.

I'll keeo the order from Amazon, as the extra shipping from Rockauto makes up the difference for the lower price.
