Yea, RTV along the whole great wall of China. Most gasket kits come with 2 strips of material and say to just add RTV to the corners where they meet the actual manifold gaskets... throw those strips away and just run a bead of RTV instead.

Kinda like this. A thin layer around the coolant ports helps too. Then place the gasket on it and put some more RTV on the corners over the tip of the gasket to the china wall to fill in the gap there made by the gasket.

Thanks everyone! Side note because I don't feel like making another thread.

On a k1500 my fuel tank capacity should be 25 gallons right? I filled my tank and it went all the way to 30 and now gas is leaking out of my tank. Not sure if its leaking because its just overfilled or if theres a leak in the tank.

Do it like this!
Only thing I have to add is make sure you follow the directions for the RTV and allow it to set for the appropriate amount of time before you crank the bolts down and compress it. Too early and you'll squeeze all the RTV out and not get a good deal.

Thank you! Is there any chance it would be leaking from the pump seal and not a hole in the tank? It's coming from up top and running down.
Definitely possible if the gasket is bad. I'd check your lines first though. There should be three - a pressure, a return, and a vapor line. If the o-rings are bad in the pressure or return lines they'll leak at the joint. Feel around on each line, looking for gas on either. If you have a short run of flexible hose there, it could have split where it's secured to the lines out of the tank as well.

Your TBI is fairly low pressure. You could try turning the key to the run position without turning the engine over, and crawl under to check the pump out while it runs. Maybe have an assistant turn the key for you so you spend less time futzing around trying to get eyes on the pump. Of course this is all predicated on the assumption that your truck only leaks when it's running. If it leaks just sitting there, I'd look for a hole in the tank.
