Hello friends. I was jumping on here cuz I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have a 97 gmc yukon with a 5.7 ,2 bolt main I have a big leak coming from the oil pan gasket front and rear. I've changed the gasket twice now felpro. Within 2 weeks. I've done it both by the book and with rtv sealer on both sides of the gasket. Both times it leaks. I even ordered a new oil pan from gm and it still leaks. It is not leaking from the rear main or the front timing cover. Both are dry. You can see the oil seeping out the side of the oil pan gasket. I'm kinda stuck cuz I've done it both ways and still leaks mainly from the front. Wonder if you guys have ever had this issue. My brother keeps telling me to buy the permedex spray sealer. The engine is still new don't even have 1000 miles on it yet. The first time I used rtv on both sides of the gasket the 2nd time I only did the corners like the book says. Both times I torqued them to spec. The 2nd time I changed the oil pan. Also I've already checked the top end. Not leaking from heads valve covers or oil pressure sensor. All that is dry and so is the intake manifold. So I'm officially stumped

How much pressure is building-up in the crankcase due to an ineffective PCV system (or excessive blow-by)?
I'm not sure . But I also thought that and changed my pcv valve today still leaks.. my old one was still new as I just put it last year was ac delco

Is it the original block from 97?

Is it possible the oil pan isn’t GM ? Like some sort of quirky aftermarket? I just changed my oil for the first time on my recently purchased 96 Burb and there was a goofy STP S3980 76mm 14 flute filter that wouldn’t come off with filter wrenches sized for it. I replaced with a Delco P52 76mm 15 flute no problems and will stay with that. Why would that stp filter be off 1 flute ? Anyway since yours isn’t the factory block makes me wonder about your actual pan. Where did you purchase your engine ? GB

I bought the pan directly from gm. I don't use stp I always use ac delco or gm parts. The pan it came with was warped so that's why I ordered the new one. I bought the engine from autozone. It's not leaking from the oil filter or cooler lines. It's seeping out the gasket itself from the oil pan
