The standard 193 TBI cast iron head takes 5/8" taper seat plugs. The Vortec head AND any aluminum head takes 3/4" long reach plugs. As an example, the last letters on an ACDelco plug is TS (Taper Seat) for TBI and LTS (Long Taper Seat) for Vortec. What do you mean long reach? Not familiar with that term.
I'm confused. I thought in your earlier post you said in an aluminum head, you need long reach and gaskets instead of taper seat. The standard 193 TBI cast iron head takes 5/8" taper seat plugs. Yeah you're right, I should have said Vortec and aluminum heads take long reach but, aluminum heads take gasket seat.I'm confused. I thought in your earlier post you said in an aluminum head, you need long reach and gaskets instead of taper seat.
Find out where the casting comes from. The sad fact is that companies that choose patriotic-sounding names often are hiding their connections to their Communist Chinese suppliers.Any experience with Liberty heads?
