From the "What Are You Working On" thread:

I'm still working on healing my shoulder. I got my stitches out today and looked through all the pictures of the procedure with my doctor. The damage wasn't terrible and it looks like I'll heal up well. I had a torn labrum and a partially detached tendon. The surgeon had to go through my bicep to reattach the tendon. Fortunately my rotator cuff was undamaged and didn't need any repair.

I'm really frustrated that I lost of week of 70 degree weather that was perfect for wrenching, especially since Roscoe's new in the shop, but getting my shoulder back to 100% is a priority. Now after a brief bad weather snap it's supposed to be nice and '70s again this weekend... and I have Reserve duty. Just as well, while I'm ready to start wrenching again, carefully, I don't want to push it too hard yet. Directing airmen will probably be a better duty for me until I get a little stronger. I'm hoping to be strong enough to make a trip to Pull-A-Part next week.

I promise, more to follow, but I have to get healthy enough to roam around Pull-A-Part without undoing the surgeon's work.

I hope you get better soon Erik.

Speaking of your rear axle, I found this article the other day: https://lugnut4x4.com/axles/14-bolt-vs-dana-60-dana-70/

From a strength perspective, the Dana 70 is a bit stronger than the mighty 14 bolt 10.5" full float axle, which is impressive! If you have one of those lockers you mentioned, that's one hell of an axle you got there!

Remember the pic of the tool tray behind the seat, filled with poo? It is now scrubbed, cleaned, and shot with black vinyl paint. Tomorrow I paint the dash. If Google Photos will ever take the video dump from my phone, I'll edit and post a how-to video.

If you still want some good dually parts and don't mind driving to Houston, I found one in the yard today that's pretty clean. No motor or trans, but the rear axle is still there, and body(crew cab) and frame are nice.

Thanks, and I'm typically down to Houston at least once a year, but my cab is in good shape and the rear axles turned nicely once we started dragging it towards the trailer. The engine and transmission are what I'm missing. Also, I think OKC is probably one of the few places that can compete with Houston on GMT400 availability. As stated earlier, I already have another co-worker offering up a K2500 for parts. Finally, I'm not as interested in a dually; I'd much prefer to keep Roscoe a SRW.

I did get the dash painted yesterday. I was going to start on some of the other interior parts, but the temperature was in the 50s today, and after I got done with other chores my arm was sore, so I really didn't get anything done today. I'm also trying to get Way Cool Jr in shape to show at the end of the month, so it'll be limited progress on Roscoe for a while.

No problem, I saw it and thought of you. Hopefully someone else sees it and can make use of the parts. I was surprised they had 2 duallies in the yard, it isn't that big.

I gotta say, this is a basket case of a truck, and my plan it just to put it to work. The amount of attention I'm getting on this thread is a little surprising to me. I hope I can stay motivated to do it justice.

I think part of it, is you're saving one that was cast off, and we all want to do that. No surprise that a lot of us seem to have rescue animals or be foster parents....
