hood insulation

I've never had hood insulation on any of my cars, even the 500hp twin turbo one. It's definitely not gonna be an issue on something with this much space to dissipate heat.

No cause of paint peel. You mean outside of hood right. Do not, I repeat do not use clay bar on these old original paint finishes! I clay barred my '94 and within a yr or 2 the hood and roof sunburned. Apparently it removed what was left of the clear coat. And I maintained the truck with paste wax since I bought it new.

If you actually removed the clear with a clay bar you really had to work at it. Your clear was already damaged, the clay bar had nothing to do with it unless you were doing it weekly or something. These trucks are notorious for paint fade on the roof and hood.
