I bought a Schrader valve stem and bolted it into an old MC reservoir lid.
Pressurise it with the tyre compressor that plugs into the ciggy lighter socket. Leaks at the seal but that's OK - saves over-pressurising - but still provides enough pressure to push fluid.

That's a great idea

I finally got some NiCopp line. No leaks now. I used the Motive pressure bleeder to load 15 psi on the master cylinder, just air pressure, to check for leaks. The new tube dripped for a bit. I tightened the fittings a bit more and pumped the brakes a few times and the leaks stopped.

Without doing ANY bleeding, the pedal is back. At about two inches of depression, the pedal gets way hard and the brakes work great.

Go figure. Maybe divine intervention? :)

The lawsuits over abs against manufacturers found moisture would migrate to the abs and cause corrosion problems there. The scapegoat was that a brake fluid flush was recommended IRRC every three years.

When I first encountered this problem (about a year ago) mine came alright on its own. But has returned.

using an air compressor to fill that air tank to power bleed the brakes could actually put moisture in the brake fluid if the compressor dosent have an air drier. Iv always bleed brakes the 2 person method and with a hose on the bleeder running into a jar, through a lid, with only brand new brake fluid in it. bubbles out clean fluid in instead of air. glad My wife is patient!

I'm a firm believer in replacing brake parts by RPO and not mismatching brake systems. There is one system that isn't very good and could be upgraded, but it's more than just a MC swap. you need the entire system for it to work right.

Im also fortunate enough to live on a farm and can safely activate my abs to cycle it if I have to. but you know I dont wait for a problem to arise that requires it to be bled. I cycle the abs for fun every couple months in the snow or in gravel. I believe this exercise keeps it in good running order. the abs works flawlessly on both of my trucks.

You sound a little like me lol. Whenever its wet I cant help it. Always wanna make sure the abs works and that the rear tires still spin when I press the gas at wot :)
