I have been running 1.5" spacers in the rear to match offset difference for years with no problems.

When I did this (many years ago) my research suggested that the front and rear tracks differed by about 4". I have 2" steel spacers on my truck, which doesn't tow and have had no problems. I will say that matching tracks made a huge difference in handling/stability/reduced hunting in snow.

That's something worth considering. I wasn't gonna mess with it because it seemed like a cosmetic thing, but I'm about to move to snow land and take this thing with me

I am not certain if 1500 and 2500 have the same extent of track difference due to different assemblies used. Something to check/confirm on your ride if you decide to proceed.

There's a noticable difference but I'm not sure how big.

Buy Stahl wheel spacers and Stahl only. If your budget is a little tighter go for Bora spacers. Don’t quote me on this but most of your K series GMT400s need a 2in spacer clear the factory studs a 1.75 may work but measure the studs with a caliper before you buy. If the studs stick out of the spacer you're bought they must be trimmed, proud studs are one of the leading causes of peoples wheels flying off.
