What does this light mean

This light is always on my dash in my 1998 k1500 and only comes off when you have the parking brake set or high/low beams on and it doesn’t have fog lights and the drls don’t work and I’m just trying to figure out what it means and how to get it to go away I’m sure it’s something silly and I’m being a dumbass but I can’t find it anywhere online and I don’t have the owners manual

It is the DRL on indicator, so something is working.

if your drls are not working pull the drl fuse or drl box under the dash and the light should go out.

I hate DRL, absolutely dangerous in today’s society. To many morons driving at night with no clue they don’t have headlights or taillights on.

And DRL look stupid.

Pulling the fuse doesn't make the light go out, but you can pull the bulb for it out of the back of the cluster.

I hate DRL, absolutely dangerous in today’s society. To many morons driving at night with no clue they don’t have headlights or taillights on.

In the GM boardroom, circa 1992:
"We need to enhance our reputation for safety."

"We could invest money in engineering more crash protection into our vehicles!"
"We could spend some funds on improved airbag systems!"
"It might cost a little, but we could improve the handling and braking!"

"That all costs money. How about we just wire the headlights to stay on all the time and call it a safety innovation?"

As others have said, it's your DRL indicator. They're "on" but not working, usually due to a failed DRL diode module under the dash.

If it was me I'd do as mentioned and just pull the bulb from the cluster if it's bugging you.
