Tie rod insanity

They are on the rear with the crown nuts facing front.

The tie rod ends are on the back with the crown nut facing front.

That sounds like the center link is backwards then.... I'm almost positive the nuts face the rear

The rain shows no sign of stopping for about 5 days, so I'm going to town to get an easy up and a Haynes manual. I will get to the bottom of this!
