Most of that is true, but I haven't had to notch the bed for shackles, two different sets both to 2". And I've done hangers at least 4 times without dropping the tank or moving it at all.. It can be done.

Keep in mind this is more work than a flip kit (IMO). Drilling out the rivets on the stock front hangers, and removing (or dropping) the gas tank so you can reach everything, and notching the frame of the bed to accommodate the shackle, seems a lot of work for the amount of drop youre going to get. And it gets worse when you realize you want more drop. Because you have to go all the way back and start over to re-install the stock front hanger, and re-install the rear shackle. A flip kit does require a notch, but that and the bed rail cut can be installed/done while youre still driving the truck so that when you do the flip (which is stupid easy, BTW) all you have to do is put the axle on top of the springs and tighten it down.

Isn't a shackle just the rear mount of the leaf?

Well if you have stock shocks, there obviously going to be to soft, it's kind of just a guessing game. Everyone has there own shock preference. As far as what I mentioned about the tires, if you're tires are rubbing the inner fenders, there is a bolt directly above the left front tire in the middle, you're gonna want to take out so it doesn't eat up the tire

so far i cant find any damage to the tires. ima keep looking tho. i know something is hitting. but which bolt are you tlaking about? and should i do the same thing to the other side. i havnt looked. but is this bolt your talking about ONLY on that side or both?

and ive been looking into different shocks. seems like 50 bucks a piece is the going rate. not bad but not great either. lol just a questoin tho... are coil overs an option with stock a arms? or do you have to have tube arms? just thinking they might be worth the cash if i get adjustable ones if available.... anybody ran any on stock arms? pros/cons?

v3nom is getting ready to do adjustable coilovers on his 454. Umm there isnt a kit that you can just order ad bolt up. He ordered a kit for a diff vehicle and is modding it to work. I would think stock arms could be used cause when you should be able to do the cup the same way people bags do.

I've done hangers at least 4 times without dropping the tank or moving it at all.. It can be done.

When I did mine, of the 5 guys in the shop at the time, none of our ham-fists would fit into where the hanger bolts to on the driver side. Had to get the girl from the front desk to get her tiny little hands in there to thread on the nuts.
When you put the hangers in, if you have the type with the square ends on the top, make sure to round them off, like in the pix. Otherwise those square corners will wear a couple of really ugly holes in the box. How do I know this? Hmmm!
