I bought my '95 with 285-75-16 BFG MT's on stock steel wheels. Not bad tires considering they were bald. I then bought some 35x10.50 Buckshot Gumbo Mudders, which come to find out would be my favorite tires on this truck. They only lasted two years, so I scooped up some 285-75-16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudder and 16x8" American Racing Outlaw 2's. I'd compare them to the BFG's in wear and performance, but not as costly. Lastly I picked up some 285-75-16 Wrangler MT/R's for cheap. Awesome wear, decent off road performance, and fairly quiet. Good tires, but quite expensive if you buy them new.

Of course everyone knows how all the different Swampers act, so the only other tires I'll comment on are my 35x12.50x17 BFG KM2's. Paid $320 a tire for them, they're quiet, very good road manners, wear amazingly, awesome deep sand tire, good rock grip (during a scary rock crawling session in a heavy FSC. Was afraid the G80 was going to give), very very puncture resistant, good snow traction, and clean out good in mud if you keep your wheel speed up. I'd buy a set in a heartbeat for my next truck, but I think I'm going to give some Cooper Discovery STT's a try first. If they don't make the cut, then I'll mount up some tried-and-true KM2's and forget about it

With stock wheels even 265/75R16 (about 32x10.5) won't stick out past the fenders. Especially on a 2wd where the rear end is around 3" narrower than a 4x4 rear axle. If you want them to stick out you'll either need new wheels or spacers

Alright thanks. I will go with spacers.

I was looking at some wheel spacer threads and some said they would make you rub WORSE. I take that as if you are rubbing to begin with. What about with the 31 1050 15? Would I rub with 1.25" spacers?

Here's my setup. Geolander 33s and I think they are 15 or 16 inch American Eagle wheels.

By making your wheels stick out more, spacers can make them rub on the valance or bumper more, but will prevent them from rubbing the frame. For you, it just depends on what lift you go with whether they will rub with spacers or not
