Trying to find a tailgate Lock for 1998 GMC Sierra 1500.

Not exactly. I agree that you're not going to protect anything in the bed without a locking cover of some sort, but tailgate locks do exist for these trucks.

Yeah, I was looking at that Pop Lock and maybe getting a tonneau cover ever since I received that Truck catalog from Summit Racing.

Are you looking at a way to secure your tailgate so it can't be stolen, or are you trying to lock the latch on the tailgate?

If you're trying to keep your tailgate from being stolen, put a hose clamp around the tailgate socket.
