Been a while but here's the update: We broke the bolts clean off into the intake. Tried to drill and extract. Fail fail fail. Long story short, got a clean Yukon GT intake for $20 from a car community friend, and installed it. New intake gaskets and TBI gasket was a bonus. Also found out my 350 has the roller cam provisions! New t-stat, new heater core, hoses, coolant, blah blah. "Melt your face off" heat now, engine temps where they should be, and got through the rest of winter nicely. Now I can concentrate on all of the other stuff that I need to fix!
