Fellow GMT400ers,

I have had a 1996 Suburban, with the deluxe two-tone paint option, for many years. Unfortunately the paint on the hood and roof have succombed to the infamous GM clear coat problems. I would like to get it repainted back to original spec, but one problem is the lack of availability of the striping tape that separates the two tones.

My truck is painted in cherry ice (59U), with quicksilver (96L) second tone. The original striping tape is a dark cherry line on a light cherry background. The dealers tell me that replacement tape is NLA. LMC trucks does not offer anything. Looking at 3Ms web site, I suppose a different color combination could be used. But it would not have the proper curve at the front of the fender... Wondering what options people have found?
