So I have a k2500 light duty (6 lug), and it seems to ride rougher then a standard k1500. I don't tow much other then small boat trailers, and it has a 305 for engine. Would there be any harm in swapping in new torsion bars from a k1500 sense I've heard the light duty 6 lugs have pretty much the same front ends but stiffer bars. Is this true? Would swapping improve the ride? Also should note to torsion keys are not cranked above factory height. Thanks!

^^^ Yup.

It's really likely that "K1500" torsion bars will be softer. Until you know what you have so that you can verify, it'd be a poor decision to just buy random bars from some K1500 donor.

Wow, I’ve never seen a Light Duty 2500 with 6GK/7GK torsion bars. I thought those only came on HD 2500’s with 8600 gvwr.

Typically the LD’s got the 6GG/7GG or 6GH/7GH bars. But you got the 8615 lb. bars factory installed.

Why not install a softer shock absorber? The shock is what gives you ride quality. If you disagree, try removing the front shocks on your truck and take a test drive.

My K2500 LD also came with 6GK/7GK torsion bars. IMO it rides pretty ok, I second replacing the shocks.
I guess I’m just surprised 8600 lb. bars came with a 7200 gvw truck. All good!

Since the stickers are long gone, can you just measure the diameter of the bar to identify them?
