They might! Helper bags would be a better choice! They worked great when I had them on mine.

I don't haul enough to justify drop shocks and helpers. I carry a small trailer couple times a month. That's why I wanted a simple air shock combo

'78 - '85 El Camino's came from the factory with air shocks. Those would probably work the best. And they have GM part numbers! Keep a watch for those at the wreckers.

I read that oobs air shocks work well since they are 2" shorter

no they won't when I was at 5 in the rear stock length were too long... however rear air shocks from an impala of some sort work great... when I get home I'll look up the ones I used and let you know

btw 67 impala rear shocks are what I'm talking about they are a direct bolt on I've used air shocks and regular shocks from a 67 impala and they both work flawlessly... as a matter of fact I'm currently still using those rear shocks on my eight inch drop with no problems
