I've been searching for the same trying to see if anyone sells a filler neck to go inside the bed or if you have to modify existing or make one... My 94 is bagged but kept original tank and location just need to relocate the filler neck to the inside of the bed so I can shave the filler door.
Anyone done this?
There's aftermarket filler necks w/flush mount style cap that are used in a variety of custom applications, none I know of specifically for a GMT400.

I've also seen a really trick setup that someone one-offed for folding the driver taillight out on hinges for a hidden filler neck, copying the idea from a '57 Chevy. I'm pretty sure it was on a GMT800. But again, was a one-off, don't think it made it to "kit" form.

I ilke the tail light idea except I have the AVS LED 15" long tail lamps frenched so I can't use the flip tail lamp idea. I like it especially for the 50's models looks sharp!

Do you know anyone who sells the flush mount kits you are talking about?

Nope, but as I started typing "flush mount gas cap" into duckduckgo, it completed it for me.. "for truck bed" - looks like a few candidates here (mixed in with ones that are simply swaps for an existing cap)

Found the post with the one I was talking about, I understand this method won't work in your case but I thought it was pretty slick - so here it is, for anyone else interested.

Only problems I see with this one is I don't think the big factory cap will fit in that tight spot, and I'm wondering if the reverse light socket would hit the cap. No light sockets/wiring added back into the mix here yet. -- edit, scratch that, I looked at the other pics in the project album and it looks like they did get all the factory sockets and wiring in place.

Doesn't shaved refer to making a smooth surface. Like shaved door handles on a square body. The filler door is flush mount.
