Reverse lamp Switch manuel trans

I have a 89 Getrad 5 speed does anyone make a longer reverse lamp switch other than the 58mm.tested switch it works when taken out of trans and the ball is barely pushed and reverse lamp comes on tells me its working and its either not long enough,wrong one or something internal in trans.if anyone has used an alternate one that has worked or any input please share.
