All is probably done, but, I've read that often times the factory put 2 1/2 inch shoes in the lighter trucks(2500 Vs 3500) but kept 3 1/2 inch drums. Also, the wheel cylinders between the 2500 and 3500 single wheel bolt up, with the 3500 having a slightly larger piston.

There's a write up on it, and it includes Dodge trucks of the same vintage as I guess dodge bought their brakes from gm

Aside from this one post by a guy I don't know on a forum I've never visited, I can't find any information to support the Chevy brakes on Dodge trucks claim. i am also skeptical of the wrong shoes being intentionally installed in larger drums. Have any more credible sources?
No, sir, I do not. Can't hurt to check though, right?

Not trying to pick a fight, the info just seems a little suspect. I'm going to see about cross referencing some part numbers between the trucks.

Hey, fair enough. I'm not trying to say it's a sure thing either. I have a 1500.iread the whole thing before I realized it was for the bigger trucks. But I'll probably end up with a 14 bolt rear anyway
