Re-installing stock front coil springs, 95 c3500 cclb 2wd

What is the best way to re-install the front stock coil springs, I am using a spring compressor. Been close on numerous occasions, two days no luck.

Maybe see if a local spring shop can compress the spring and band it compressed. Please treat it like the nuclear warhead it is!
I always drop a long extension down through the shock hole in the frame and through the hole in the lower control arm so if the spring tries to escape it can't. Had a good friend nearly killed from a coil spring when the spring compressor broke.
