I love my ‘Rado but have the feeling of wanting to change something. I really like the 6 spoke 4x4 wheels on the early trucks. Thoughts, opinions, and pictures of such would be awesome. I haven’t been able to find too many picture of these wheels except for the sales ads. Also it’s hard to find the center caps for sale. What’s y’all thoughts
I think they look OK on these trucks, but they are not one of my favorite OEM 16's for this gen. I think the OEM 16" saw blades look a little better.

I agree I think the saw blades look good I just want to change something for some reason. I was also thinking of switching to the old style mirrors in black but I know everyone hates those mirrors on these.

What are some other OEM wheels y’all like on the 400s?

Here are some nbs gmc oems I kind of like the second set pictured

Welp, finally found some 15” square body wheels, apparently they are the 4 slot base model wheels, not the rallys, something I didn’t know about. Mounted them up this morning and they scraped some of the outside edge of the caliper. All I used is a file and was able scratch off some of the caliper. WAY easier than what some people made it sound like on other forums.

So, now we have a solid answer to this age old question: you WILL have to shave some of the caliper, which is easily done with a file.

All I have to do is get some trim rings and 2 more rear center caps since these trucks don’t have the lock-outs. All-in-all, these wheels should look pretty good when I paint them tan to match my lower two-tone, of course next year since it's getting too cold for painting.

Here's where I had to file off some of the caliper on the top:

This is how it looks on the bottom part of the caliper:

These are the said 4 slot wheels that I picked up for $250 with 2 brand new BFG KO2 31x10.5s on them, should be able to sell the tires for $250 and easily get my money back.

Might be hard to tell, but here's where these wheels rubbed:

Question: can I use these lug nuts for them? They are just the standard M14x1.5 acorn lug nuts that I use on my current aluminum wheels:

Does anyone do a reproduction of the van wheels or do y’all know how hard they are to find? I like the smaller wheel look. I have read that you have to trim the caliper in a spot to make the 15’s fit?
I put a set of 6 lug 15x8 wheels from a 1980 K10 on my 1988 K1500. I kept noticing a faint squeak/chirp when I had my windows down. I pulled the front wheels and noticed witness marks on the inside of the wheel and one corner of my caliper. I was more comfortable grinding down a corner of a caliper than grinding on a weld seam on my wheel. No more chirp. They have quite an offset, but I'm actually quite pleased with the look.

Is anyone running a more modern wheel tire combination. I'm running a 285/75/17 now, the pics are 275/65/18 . Just wanting something different.
