I plan on doing a 2" drop on the front of my 94 1/2 ton using spindles. I'll be running 15x8 c10 rally wheels with 4.5" backspacing so I'm sure I'll need to trim the lower control arms.

I'm a little concerned with the strength on the arms after trimming. Has anyone had any issues?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve been trying to find this out as well. Everything I’ve read from people who’ve actually done it, say they’ve never had a problem. I did a little bit of grinding but after dropping mine more, needs to be clearanced a bit more.

Both of my trucks have had the LCAs trimmed for about 26 years between the two of them.
Hundreds of thousands of miles. A lot (a LOT!) of them hard, hard miles.
I like the twisties. (There's some r-e-a-l-l-y good fun roads here!)
At speed. For hours on end. It's nothing to rack up 150 miles or more on a Sunday, just blasting around the mountain backroads.
The outer edges of my front tires wear out before the rest of tire.
I kill shocks.
Off-the-shelf replacement rotors last about 8 months.
I've gotten good at rebuilding the front ends of these trucks.
...and yet, I have never had a problem with the LCAs after they were trimmed.
I kept an eye on them for the first couple of years. No spreading. No cracking. No probs.
They're the least of my concerns when tucking into a freeway entrance ramp at 60mph against a posted 40, coming out at 80+, and still leanin' on the skinny pedal. Trimmed LCAs are not what I'm thinking about at those moments
I'm more focused on that seeing that dip that's going to throw me off my line.
...or into the weeds.
...and gravel. OooOoo. Scary **** when pulling G's.

Well, mine should do just fine then. Central Indiana is flat as a pancake compared to watch you're describing. Only thing here to watch out for are potholes.

Thanks for the info.

I have had them trimmed on a half dozen trucks with zero issues.

I have seen some guys that have plated the bottom of the control arms to reinforce them but I have not done it. Again, I've never had an issue so I never felt the need to.

Nice views! What's that growing on the trellis? Almost looks like grape vines?

What are those rocky looking things with all the white on top? We don't have those around here.
