my 95 2500 has the nv3500 and its a 8 lug. If i remember correctly the nv4500 was put behind the 6.5 and the 7.4 not the 5.7 like mine has
Had a 94 dually k3500 that had a 350 and nv4500. Did not own it since new so I'm only assuming it was factory that way.

I had a K1500 RCSB with a factory 350/NV4500, so I guess it just came down to what combination was ordered.

The 92-94 version of the NV4500 had the granny 1st gear and an external slave cylinder. In 95, first gear switched to 5.61 (also the first year Dodge offered it) and went to an internal slave cylinder. I’m not exactly sure when GM stopped using it, but I think it was well into the 2000’s.

For the record - 95 was still external slave but did have the higher ratio gearing. It's a 1 off year NV4500. There are actually a bunch of small revisions throughout them, including the addition of a synchronized reverse in 99.

The last year for a NV4500 was in 2006 behind the 6.0 GMT800s.

You are correct, 95 did have the external slave.

The NV4500 was put behind just about anything - including 4.3L and 5.0L trucks. There were a few years you could get a 4.3L C1500 RCLB with a NV4500. Just last weekend I saw a 94 K1500 with F44 RPO and the NV4500 behind a L05 350....

with it being a 3500 drw im guessing thats why it had the 4500. a 3500 drw is a heck of alot heavier duty then a 2500

Hard telling with gm. I'm sure somewhere there's a factory 4wd, c1500, long bed, stepside, with ff10 bolt 7 lug, factory 12 CD changer, manual windows, 2.0l 4 cyl, nv4500, single cab with 3rd door and convertible top.

My '91 K1500 has a MG5 (Getrag) tranny that is worn out, and that I would like to replace with a NV4500. I just need to determine what year would be a bolt-in replacement.
