Not default of the defrost.

All the doors in my climate control work fine and do what they are supposed to do but when I turn the climate control off the mode door goes to panel. All my old chevy's were either cable or vacuum operated and the default was always defrost in case there was loss of vacuum to the control panel or airbox. Gotta be able to see where you're going! Is this a problem or just the nature of the beasty?

What year, what model. Have you read the operation description in the service manual? It will explain the position at what function, and when turned off.

91 C1500 SCSB. I did try to figure out what the manual was trying to tell me but got lost in it.
