so i have been over on ck5.com ( same screen name there ) for years and have a collection of square body trucks from a c-10 short bed and 3 k30 trucks along with a gmc7000 dump truck .

so years ago i have a 88 c2500 6 lug 2wd truck with a tbi350/700r4 combo and run here for a daily driver for years . then i scored a 96 c3500 crew cab vortec 350/4l80-e combo and had my fun with that one .

well a few weeks ago i scored a decent bones 2001 3500-HD with the 8.1/nv4500 and 80,300 miles on the clock . its been a local truck its whole life but the northern salt winters eat up the flatbed and cab corners and rockers and door bottoms . i have a brand new flatbed for it already and i scored a 95 c1500 that was from north carolina and 98% rust free and clean . last owners kid let his friend drive the truck and he hit a NOT easy to move solid chunk of something and totaled the truck . the frame is so bent and twisted and even a hole punched in the crossmember under the engine . the tailgate pic i took level to the ground to show how bent the frame is .

so i am over here to get some answers from the GMT400 members and get my project running . thanks for a good looking site and hope to find the answers to my few questions .

Yep, the frames on these bend easily, so they take the impact instead of the occupants taking it. Learned this on my other 99 Burb, after it got a good smacking from a jerk running a red light.
That said, welcome to the forum! You're going to find a lot of knowledge here, and not just about these trucks....
