Hey guys! Quick question. I went to the gas station tonight and $70 later o_O she was full! I ran the math and I got 13 mpg... ouch. It was almost all city driving though but with news plugs and wires I figured it would be closer to the 15 that the EPA suggested. Unless is getting 13 normal or do I need to tune it up a little more? Auto trans (sadly) with the 4.3

I got a 98 with a new 5.7, new auto trans with a 6” lift and 33s with the 3.73 and I get 11mpg. My wife’s 2013 ram with the hemi gets 12mpg
These trucks are not made for mpg.
The EPA estimates are a joke.

Mines 95 2500 with a 5.7 and gets 8-9 in town. On the highway i get about 11-12. My f150 on the other hand gets about 20 in town and 25 on the highway if i keep it under 80.

I had a 93 WT LWBRC with a 4.3L and a 4L60E. I was getting about 16 MPG in town, and 20 on the highway. This was with OE tires, and 342 gears. Most 4.3L have 342 gears, but not all. If you have 373s your gas millage will go down, and tires also play a part in this. If you have no CEL and have 342s with OE tall tires, you should be getting better MPGs than 13, IMO. Next question, is what is the exhaust system like. A plugged cat, and or muffler is a MPG, and power robber. My 97 C1500 5.7L SWBEC, with 342s gets about 12.5 in town, and about 16 on the high way, but I live in Louisiana where it is flat, and just above see level.

Correct! Just wondering if maybe something is wrong.
