That figures...

2020 Express van still has some vacuum controls in the HVAC

Now things are getting interesting, there are three cams I would like to get in order of hottest to weakest:

This is the cam I am running in its stock setting in my 383…206/ 213 Lift 431/428 then with

Rhoads Lifers: Less 10%: Duration 185.4/191.7 Lift 371.7/385.2 lobe sep. 114

(Target 179.5/192.2 Lift .350/381)

#1 395 marine cam. The 395' cam is 196/206 @ 0.050., .431/.451 lift and a torque producing 109 LSA.

This with a set of Rhoad’s roller lifters will give me the closes match to 383’s cam. (.176/185 387/405)

(Target 179.5/192.2 Lift .350/381)

#2 Chevrolet Performance #12041264
191/196 @.050 .414/.428 111LSA (.172/.176 .373/.385) (Target 179.5/192.2 Lift .350/381)

This cam was used in full size trucks and Caprice/Impala SS so obviously it is a low torque cam,

#3 '91--'93 Chevy/Buick/Caddy B- and D-body LO5 Cam is GM 10088155 and will have 155 stamped into it. 179.5/192.2 Lift .350/381 This would be run with stock lifters.

I had the 395 cam in my Express van and averaged about 18 mpg over a 2,200 mile trip. Some of it was cruising 90+ mph as well. I had a stock L31 bottom end, 906 Vortec heads with 2.02/1.60 valves and 1.7 roller rockers. The heads were shaved 0.020" and I put them on with 0.016" shim head gaskets. L31 Marine intake and thorley tri-y headers. Had a 4L85E and 3.73 geared 9.5" SF 14-bolt. Tires were 265/50R20s that are 30.5" tall on 20x8 Nissan Titan wheels. It would go up ~6% grades throughout Kentucky in overdrive without kicking down. I was turning 2,500 rpm for alot of that trip. This was one such grade, running about 65 mph in heavy rainfall. Was turning around 2,000 rpm @ 65. From memory that tank (31 gallon tank but was adding about 24 gallons when the needle hit E) made it from Liepsic, Ohio to Nashville, TN or about 430 miles and that was through the hills of kentucky.

I have some possible trading stock for one of these cams:

4X4 transmission adapters for 700R4/4l60s and TH400/4l80s, in cast iron and aluminum.

One for a TH400/4l80 and a number for a 700R4/4l60.
