You could run 10:1 all day on cheap gas and a stock tune. The timing is so retarded you have a significant margin not to mention a knock sensor for when you get a **** batch of gas.
Funny you mention that. I ran my 11:1 383 with 0.041" quench, on the stock Vortec Express van timing map for break-in. I was able to bump the timing up considerably on 91 octane.

Well i guess the old sf901 and sf600 with flow com is flawed and lying to us. Better give them a call and straighten them out. O ya we did a vortec 383 with lt4 cam, 830hp holley10.2;1 and it made over 520hp real easy. Last 302z28 was a stock lift, stock stroke, stock length rod, stock design piston, stock intake and carb made 541 on the junky sf901 then goes the et to back it
