took my truck to the mechanic today (great guys there) had my pitman arms, rotors, calipers, and I think idler arm done for 594.56 I think the idler arms I forgot though. Well that being said my steering is slightly off center. no big deal but should I get an alignment before I go all big D*** on the mechanics? They're real nice guys

Did they not align it after changing those parts? If not yes you need an alignment any time steering parts are changed....

Definitely. When I replaced all of my front end parts, driving straight, my steering wheel was turned about a quarter to the left.

I know how you feel I want to a different mechanic and he quoted me 1000$ and said it was wheel bearings yet when they put it on the lift you could see where all the play is. I need new upper ball bearings but my dad said to wait another day

Yes you need to get an alignment. It should have been done with any kind of front end work.
