Yeah, the converter lockup actually helps alot, especially with lower gears. Can you imagine my mpgs on the camaro without OD? 4k rpm cruising at 65mph

well to revive an old thread momentarily, i now know why the rpm's were so high, the trans finally dumped on me and the shop told me that overdrive was kicking in and out in load cuz the "forward clutch packs" were shot...im great with motors but not transmissions...does this sound right? truck wont go forward on its own just in OD, have to shift it like a stick to get moving
