How to ID which A/C compressor

Hi, this isn't exactly GMT400 but this is my fav truck forum with lots of experienced/informed members. I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 with 6.0 gas motor. The A/C compressor took a dump and when I look it up I find two different units listed. One is H6 or HU6 and the other is 10S17F. Is there an easy way to ID which compressor is on my truck without removing it? I want to order a kit and have everything I need before taking it to the shop. Thanks in advance!

Look at the pictures of the two compressors on your parts web site. Compare to what's on your truck.
