How many use their trucks as true daily drivers?

400's have been my daily for over 20 years & about 500,000 miles.
One of the last GMs that the average guy can work on in his backyard shop with minimal special tools or expensive diagnostic equipment.

...but now only drive 1 mile round trip to work.

Wow, I think I have to walk that far just to get from the parking lot to my area, at work!

I drive my 91 RCSB Z71 68 miles each way to work every day. I consistently get 21MPG. It’s got a full roller350 with a HM 290 5speed and 3.73’s. I got Harris to burn me a chip for it with fuel mileage as my #1 request. Among other things to get better mileage. It gets me through the snow in the winter and sometimes across the open desert when there is a wreck on the freeway. Absolutely the perfect work vehicle for me.

Every 400 series I've owned has been a dd. Fell in love with them in 89 and am on the 4th one now... all bought new. This 99 is getting ready for a resto, so I am actually looking for my first used 400 now to dd while I wrench, weld and cuss.

Mine is a daily driver, however I only live a mile or so from the HS that I teach at. I could literally ride my beach cruiser bike and not break a sweat. We use my wife's Camry for out of town trips. I probably average about 5K miles a year on my truck.
