Hello. I'm having an issue tracking where the end of this ground strap is going to. It's running from the frame to somewhere up and behind the engine. I'm tackling the job tomorrow.

There should be 2 of them. One runs to the engine block, and one runs to the back of the starter. The 3rd ground runs from the battery to the front of the engine. Make sure the surfaces are super clean and shiny before you make your connections and clean up the other one. You will see on the forum that these are called the BIG 3 !!! If the connections are not excellent, you will be in the hall of shame chasing all kinds of silly problems which can all be tied to a bad ground .

Could you please describe where the taillight harness to frame ground is supposed to be? Chasing taillight issues. TYVM.
Also, fuel filler and taillight harness both have ground straps to frame.

Without running out and taking a picture, I’m thinking, off the taillight harness ground to frame. I’ll try and get a picture tomorrow.

Always. What year. what model. What engine. What transmission first.
It makes it much easier.
Really hard to tell but I think you are looking at the back of the passenger side head to firewall stud to frame ground.
I assume that you are going to replace them.
They look green crud bad.
So you have a ground that goes from the back of the pass side head to a stud in the firewall.
And another ground that goes from that stud to the frame.
Those ground straps are bad. Dont reuse them.
You also dont need a factory tinned braided strap.
Any cheap battery cable that will bolt on will work.
And it doesnt really need to bolt to that stud on the back of the head.
It just needs to bolt to that head.
Be carefull about that firewall stud.
It small and weak and really wont take much torque.
Abandon that and put a big through wall stud in the firewall.

On my Burb the taillight harness was kinda tucked up by the trailer hitch, between it and the rear frame crossmember. There's a pin on the top side of the plug( the part you have to take apart to plug the trailer connector harness into) that holds it into the frame.
