I had my buddy who works at my local dealer take a look at my truck and he said my heater core is shot, my radiator leaks, and my hoses are pretty gummed up. Im gonna order all the parts and do it myself, I just want to make sure i got all the right ones. Are these correct?

I already have a new t-stat, upper and lower hoses, and coolant. Does all this look right? What are you guys thoughts on using regular coolant instead of dex cool? I was thinking that after i install everything to just run some water through to "clean" any remaining old coolant and then just use regular stuff. Good or bad?

You are not saying what your truck is...the heater core may be a ***** to change. Why does your friend feel it is bad, is it leaking? If its an older truck, I would go with the regular antifreeze.
