Thanks so much. This helps a lot. I'll post pictures one day. Still getting painted at present. Then on to the interior and new glass front and rear.

First time I've ever heard of anyone replacing the moudling, usually everyone is taking it off. I like it, as I'm sure it's saved my truck from lots of door dings over the years.
I did find a piece of it out in the woods once, only to discover it was mine, that I had scraped off on a tree.
I used the roll type on mine after I bedlinered the rocker panels. No regrets. Genuine 3m tape on the back and had no problem sticking to even bedliner. Plus you can pull the trim all the way to the wheel wells if you want. Never actually checked to see if the molding has exactly the same dimensions. But it looked identical.

I freehanded mine with a box cutter. Cuts great but my angle isn't perfect. Can't tell unless you get right up on it. You could just build a wooden angle jig if you want it perfect, I think you can buy angle jigs too.I was wondering how you cut the sharp angles on the front of the door that has to tuck into the fender when door is opened. Will a utility knife been adequate to get a clean cut and correct angle? This would be one advantage to get the precut factory stuff...but cost is an issue of course. I have a decent table saw if that would work...but cutting rubber believe it or not will dull a blade quickly. It happened to mine recently and it had carbide tips....still trying to figure that mystery out.
