You just go from 1000 to a buffer? You don't jump up too 1500 then buff? Being single stage I thought I'd do a little extra with the 1500 and 2000 grit. Basically there six coats of paint of this truck in my theory there shouldn't be a problem.It might work. I have never tried sanding runs out of single stage paint. I have sanded lots out of urethane clear though. 1000 grit wrapped around a "sponge" worked best for that. Then burn it in with a buffer.
