I found these numbers off the frame of my dad's 1995 Chevrolet C1500. The first 2 were on the left and right side between the back wheels and rear bumper. The next 2 were under the cab on both sides. The last one was on some kind of plug on the frame. Does anybody know what they are or mean?

I'm sure someone will correct me, but I imagine those are identification numbers GM used during the preproduction process to track which frame members would go with which cab configurations. I.E. 1/2 cab with 1/2 frame, leaf springs, axle(s), etc.

But that's just a guess. I have no idea about the last one though.

From what I understand, they are broadcast tags for assembly line workers to know which frame to use with which model truck being built. Different colored, with different letters allows easy and quick ID. Here’s a pic of my ‘94 K1500 EC after I did a little frame clean up.
