draining power steering fluid

im gona change out the leaky power steering line. is there a way to drain the fluid without making a huge mess? or just crack a line loose and let it drip? also whats a good fluid to use? thanks.

I just crack a line and let it drip into a oil catch pan. As for fluid, I just use trans fluid.

Sorta. You can use atf in the power steering but you can't use power steering fluid in the Trans.

If i'm in hurry I use hand suction pump and pull fluid out of reservior, then crack line for remaining fluid.
