Installing filter on power steering system - which way does the fluid flow at the brake booster?

Ive always heard to plumb it to the cooler return, as the return from the brake booster needs to have zero restriction or else it might hang the brakes slightly.

I installed one in each return line - no dragging brakes that I've noticed.
