Chevy GMC Truck Serpentine Bracket Brace Supports

I noticed these to braces are missing from my 1991 C2500 350 engine. Someone must have taken them off in the past and never put the back on. Do I need to replace them ! What is their exact function ?

They help with rigidity of the whole setup. One goes to the rear of the A/C compressor, the other to the rear of the belt tensioner.

Just remember while installing to not turn the front of the bolt on the A/C compressor bracket. There are small tabs cast into the front of the bracket at each bolt hole that are meant to keep the bolt from turning; only turn the nut at the rear. If you turn the bolt at the front you will crack/break the bracket.

Thanks Richard. I just picked up the brackets at the local junk yard and will install in a few days
