Every once in a while, my local yards get a Camaro, Firebird or Vette in. But like the trucks, they usually get picked clean quickly.

Don't know if he comes to H-Town, but there's a guy in Webster, MN that takes a huge flatbed trailer down to TX to get rust free body panels and truck beds. GM stopped making truck beds after the warranties expired (obviously) so used or rewelding beds are the only option. There's also another guy in IA that my friend went to to get rust free TX body parts as well. He got new doors all around, new bed, and tailgate. His doors were savable, but he didn't want to bother with them. A bit wasteful, but it's his decision.

Around here, they pull off the outside wheels for reasons I don't understand. Maybe to reduce wear on them when unloaded. Or something. Looks goofy until they put the outer wheels back on.

I didn't see extra hubs.

Yep. I saw one today that had a dually bed that clearly wasn't a dually truck.

Probably of the typical end of vehicle life someone got a bed that may fit.
Seen that plenty of times
Mostly late model beds on the truck

Remember at one point the vehicles in the yard no matter how hacked they were once was a prized possession.
